The minister of Culture and Sports, Silvia Riva, together with the Mayor of Andorra la Vella, Conxita Marsol, and the general manager of Molines Patrimonis, Pascual Gràcia, signed a collaboration agreement between the three institutions on Tuesday to give the comprehensive management of the Margineda Oakwood site a decisive boost.
Amongst the points in the agreement, Govern has undertaken to carry out a conservation plan for the site and will create a technical committee and an executive committee to guarantee it is fulfilled properly. Besides, and as a midterm action with a view to preserving the site, an aerial structure will be installed to provide a covering for it.
The agreement also sets out a master plan for the site’s integral conservation, its museum discourse, its museology and its management plan understanding it to be linked to the village of Santa Coloma and the Roc d’Enclar.
As for the Comù of Andorra la Vella, it will improve the access to the site by creating infrastructure that will allow for mobility of people as well as for visibility of the sight while being for social use and for the enjoyment of a leisure and rest area to be set up in the space. More specifically, an overhanging rail above the site so that everyone can enjoy the view. It will be installed in the adjacent 6,000 m2 oakwood belonging to the Comù and will be made into a public park. Access to this new wooded area will be possible from the recently renewed south part of the Avinguda Enclar as well as directly from the village of Santa Coloma.
